Love and Rejoicing: Ten Setting for Organ, has been published by Augsburg Fortress. This is a set of hymn settings I wrote in 2024. On average they are easier than my other organ works (there's only one real fugue in the whole set), though a couple of them are quite involved. Some of the tunes are very well known, some are newer tunes, and two are by other Augsburg Fortress composers. A wide variety of styles are represented: Come, Thou Almighty King is reminiscent of a Baroque trio; Hallelujah! We Sing Your Praises channels the French toccata. The harmonic language is lush and jazz-inflected (sometimes almost straight-ahead). There is a playlist of the collection on my Soundcloud page, found here. The collection can be purchased directly from Augsburg Fortress either as a physical copy, or as a PDF here.
In February 2025, Chris was awarded second prize in the Audi Sommerkonzerte Composers Competition for her work, Sister of the Sun and Moon, for SSAATTBB chorus, and saxophone quartet. The premiere took place on June 21, 2025, in Ingolstadt, Germany.
In January 2025, Chris was awarded a grant from the Ontario Arts Council for the composition of her work, An Ordinary Girl, for SATB chorus, piano, and clarinet. The premiere took place March 29, 2025, in Oshawa, ON.
